This family is just gorgeous, but we've had some bad luck when it comes to planning our sessions. First, we battled weather. Then, we battled colds! So, we decided to split the session into two parts! A first for me, but whatever works! I love the below images from Part I of our session. Looking forward to our scheduled Part II in a couple weeks.

Today, to my surprise, I received a wonderful compliment. I found I was named one of DC's best child photographers by CBS Washington. Creating art from life is a true passion of mine. But, as an artist, there's always a shred of doubt that my work will be received the way I hope. This honor is truly a gift to me. But I share in the credit; every image I create is only possible because of my gorgeous clients, who are always as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. This past Sunday, blessed with good weather, this family and I had such fun wandering around their yard and home. Mom has professional experience as a stylist and decorator, and it shows. But, what really shines through are her children's genuine smiles! Oh my, they were full of life, imagination and smiles. It was a joy working with them. Breakfast at the National Mall * DC Family Portrait Photographer
Somehow, amidst a summer full of 100+ degree weather, this family and I were lucky enough to have a gorgeous 60 degree Sunday morning for our photo session in DC. The family selected the Smithsonian Gardens at the National Mall for their photo shoot, and I was just thrilled. We found some beautiful spots and had lots of fun. Distracted by the beautiful backdrops and expert poses, I neglected to notice that their 3rd grader recently lost her front tooth! Oh my goodness, things change so quickly! I had just seen her in May for our last photo session! Of course, she looks as beautiful as always, and so does the rest of the family. I'm enjoying looking through the images as I edit.
